I passed out white ribbons to honor Mason and everyone proudly wore the ribbons and I knew that the sense of community and rallying we all need was there. Thank you to everyone who took a moment to reflect and respect Mason and his family on this day.
Autism Speaks also delivered a wonderful speech about Mason followed by a moment silence. The bells from City Hall that rang out had a deafening reminder that Mason was gone, and for that brief moment we were all forced to see that anyone of us could loss a loved one as quickly as they were brought into our lives.
I cannot change the hurt this family is experiencing, but I can lend my hand and help when needed. I have met a few families who have lost children with Autism tragically and Masons case has hit me the hardest.
Mason will never be forgotten and I personally will see to it that his name and memory lives strong in the Autism Community.
Below are members of Masons family who attended the Autism Speaks Walk, I am asking that for those of you who have not had a chance to, to please leave a message of hope and strength for the family.
Also wear a white ribbon in honor of Mason for the young man who was loved by many and will be missed by all.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. My son also suffers from Aspergers and support is so greatly needed. I feel your pain and sympathize with your loss.
I am so saddened to hear this story. What a beautiful boy. I will do whatever I can to help support those afflicted by Aspergers and Autism. I am so sorry for your loss
My deepest condolences to Mason's family. My family and I, including my 2 sons with Autism, were honoured to wear a white ribbon in memory of Mason yesterday at the Walk Now for Autism event. Our hearts go out to you all.
